An extra day to the weekend, meant an extra day for me to play around with the latest additions to our “Team”.

We now have access to 4 Digital Gaming Technology (DGT) Live boards! These gorgeous pieces of equipment allow the players to sit face-to-face and partake in over-the-board play, whilst the power of technology broadcasts their games to anyone wishing to tune in. It’s a huge step in combining the physical game with the online world.

Behind the scenes, there have been many hours of research- playing around with theoretical ideas of how to run tournament style play with multiple boards, as well as broadcasting 4 games simultaneously through 1 server computer. This weekend saw the culmination of all those hours, the temporary repurpose of the kitchen counters as game tables, a few tweaks, and voila!

Can’t wait to see theses beauties released into the wild at future congresses!!
